AH is seeking a detail oriented Senior Accountant proficient in multi-tasking. The Senior Accountant is responsible for month-end general ledger closing and financial statement preparation for multiple client partners. For each of the multiple clients, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounting services being the main point of contact for Account Executives. 

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work of staff and junior accountants for accuracy and completeness
  • Review the work done by the clerks for accuracy (A/P & A/R edit lists)
  • Ownership of the entire monthly close process for assigned clients
  • Recognizing job priorities and organizing work accordingly
  • Production of a complete set of financial statements – Balance Sheet, Income Statement & Cash Flow
  • Analyze and reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
  • Reconcile Investments
  • Prepare cash flow analysis, projections and various ad hoc reports requested by management
  • Draft appropriate informational footnotes and provide Executive Directors with a detailed analysis of financial performance
  • Work with client teams to provide value-added insight from the financial perspective
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Assist with year-end audits
  • Managing client accounting services for multiple clients
  • Development and mentoring of junior staff

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Effectively self-reviews work product and produces limited errors
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Maintain a professional manner and attitude
  • Strong skills in organization, prioritization and time management
  • Advance knowledge in Excel a plus
  • Great Plains Experience a plus

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES

Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 4-6 years related industry experience in a public accounting firm with not-for-profit experience or larger not-for-profit accounting experience. CPA a plus.
